The French medical charity Doctors Without Borders, known by its acronym MSF, suspended its operations at Madani Teaching Hospital in the capital city of Al Jazirah state, Wad Madani, Sudan. The facility is the only functional hospital for hundreds of thousands of people in the town. Reasons for the suspension include growing insecurity, the denial of travel permits for new staff and medical supplies, and repeated security incidents like looting and harassment. Nabeel Biajo spoke with Muriel Boursier, the deputy emergency manager for MSF Spain.
