The humanitarian crisis in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s North Kivu province is at critical levels as clashes between armed groups intensify. Mercy Corps CEO Tjada D'Oyen McKenna visited Kashaka camp for internally displaced persons on the outskirts of Goma, which hosts over 94,000 people, including more than 56,000 children and over 23,000 women. VOA's Esther Githui-Ewart spoke to McKenna for an eyewitness account of the atrocities committed again women and girls in the Goma camps.
