Some residents of Malakal, the capital of South Sudan's Upper Nile State, say the ongoing conflict in Sudan has caused a drastic increase in food prices, making it challenging for families to afford meals. The director-general in the state’s Ministry of Trade and Industry says in the past, Malakal residents mostly relied on food supplies from Sudan before conflict erupted across some parts of the country.
