South Sudan's Upper Nile State officials have announced their intention to move civilians currently taking refuge at a Protection of Civilian site to Malakal town next year. The United Nations established the camp after the 2013 conflict, accommodating over 35,000 civilians to safeguard families at risk of inter-communal conflict. An official from the governor's office stated that Malakal town is now stable, prompting the government to relocate thousands of PoC residents to Malakal town. Mamer Abraham Kuot reports from Malakal.
