M23 Rebels Speak on DRC Offensive

M23 rebels operating in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo recently launched an offensive in the region that has displaced over 450 people in Kitshanga town, an action taking place despite rising calls by the international community to cease hostilities and withdraw from the central African nation.
In a recent press release, officials of the rebel movement say they had no option but to launch an offensive in reaction to the “genocide” against Congolese Tutsis by the central African nation’s military and its FDLR rebel allies.
