The M23 rebel group has made significant territorial gains in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, including the capture of Goma in January. The DRC government confirmed the rebels have "occupied" this second major city in the eastern mineral-rich region last month. VOA's Paul Ndiho Spoke with Fabien Mweze, the secretary general of the Center of Political and Strategic Studies, based in Bukavu, for an update into the rebel takeover of the region.
