M23 Political Spokesperson Talks EAC, DRC Ceasefire Dialogue

M23 rebels say direct talks without preconditions with the Democratic Republic of Congo government will help resolve the ongoing conflict the eastern DRC. Political spokesperson for M23, Lawrence Kanyuka, denied reports that members of the group launched attacks on unarmed civilians in Goma over the weekend. Kanyuka tells VOA's Peter Clottey that the international community should pressure the government in Kinshasa to respect the existing ceasefire and hold talks with the fighters.
