United Nations special envoy to Libya Abdoulaye Bathily Wednesday met with National Oil Company chair Farhat Omar Bin Ghdarah for a discussion about the necessary distancing of the company from politics.
The meeting comes after Gen. Khalifa Haftar, the dominant power in eastern Libya, stepped up his pressure on the Tripoli-based Government of National Unity to come up with another formula for sharing the oil cash.
VOA's Mohamed Elshinnawi spoke to Wolfgang Pusztai, former Austrian military attaché in Libya, on the developments.
