Senator Prince Johnson of Liberia says he’s a man of peace who has served in the Liberian senate for the last 18 years without causing any trouble. Johnson’s latest comment comes as the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) accuses him of threatening a revolt like the Arab Spring if there is any cheating during Liberia’s October 10 presidential and legislative elections. Once a supporter of President George Weah, Johnson decided late last year he would no longer support him. The drumbeat of violence ahead of the elections has prompted the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) to stress dialogue and mediation in addressing any electoral concerns. Johnson tells VOA’s James Butty, he was responding to threats of violence first made by President Weah and supporters of the ruling party.
