Opposition political parties in Liberia have signed a memorandum of understanding to protect and safeguard the Oct. 10 presidential and legislative elections. Sara Beysolow Nyanti, a presidential candidate of the African Liberation League party, is the architect of the plan, tells VOA’s James Butty, the plan calls for training and deploying joint poll watchers and establishment of a war room that will receive votes from polling centers. She says the poll watchers will also track, document, and report violence against opposition supporters.
