The chair of Liberia’s elections commission says she’s pleased with the way it conducted the first round of the for on October 10 and the run-off on November 14 despite some challenges. This, after the commission Monday officially declared former Vice President Joseph Boakai winner of the November 14 runoff election. Chairlady Davidetta Browne-Lansannah tells VOA’s James Butty, she is planning ways to strengthen the commission to better carry out its mandate of conducting free, fair, and credible elections, including by securing early funding.
