It appears Kenyans will have to wait a while before their newly nominated deputy president will be sworn in. President William Ruto nominated Professor Kithure Kindike to replace Rigathi Gachagua, but Gachagua got a reprieve after the courts suspended his impeachment. Meanwhile, Gachagua, who had been in the hospital, was discharged on Sunday. He revealed at a news conference on Sunday that two assassination attempts had been made on his life. Political reporter Barrack Oduor of the People Daily explains the new developments to VOA’s James Butty.
