Juneteenth Holiday: Vestiges of Slavey Remain

Monday is Juneteenth, a federal holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. President Joe Biden made it a federal holiday in 2021. Ron Daniels is president of the Institute of the Black World 21st Century and Convener, National African American Reparations Commission. He tells Daybreak Africa host James Butty, while African Americans have made progress since emancipation in 1863, not all the vestiges of slavery have been eradicated.
