Gender Inequalities Slow Ending AIDS: UNAIDS

The executive director of the United Nations AIDS agency (UNAIDS) says gender and other inequalities are slowing progress towards ending the pandemic as a public health threat by 2030. Ahead of World AIDS Day on December 1, the agency released a report entitled, “Dangerous Inequalities,” in which it called for global action to tackle these inequalities. VOA’s James Butty spoke with UNAIDS executive director Winnie Byanyima.
