After leaving Washington, former US President Jimmy Carter founded the Carter center which has monitored elections in hot spots around the globe including in Africa. He strove to give people in the United States and elsewhere a better life. But the peanut farmer from Georgia faced many challenges while in Washington. VOA's Carol Van Dam asked Wendy Schiller, professor of public and international affairs at Brown University about that.
