A new candidate has thrown his hat into the presidential race in the Democratic Republic of Congo set for December 20. He is Patrice Majondo-Mwamba, a former American National Football League Player. There are already 24 presidential candidates, including incumbent President Felix Tshisekedi and 910 eligible political parties. Majondo-Mwamba, who describes himself as the youngest of the candidates, tells VOA’s James Butty , his campaign will focus on harnessing the untapped human potential of the country, particularly its youth and the Diaspora and wants to empower the youth to redefine the future of the DRC.
