Named November’s Apple Music Up-Next artist, 17-year-old Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, also known as Qing Madi, is said to be one of the most dynamic upcoming artists representing the future of Afrobeats. VOA’s Jackson Mvunganyi caught up with the Nigerian artist, who started off as a professional dancer and transitioned to singing, at the BU Vision studios in Atlanta, Georgia.
