Eswatini’s King Mswati III orders arrest of corrupt officials

King Mswati III of Eswatini has ordered the arrest of anyone suspected of corruption. He also ordered the protection of individuals who blow the whistle on fraud and mismanagement. Eswatini local media report that the king gave the orders on Friday (January 31) while opening parliament. But some say it can be difficult to report the problem because some loyalists use the king’s name to engage in corruption.
