The death toll in both Israel and Gaza continues to climb as fighting continues for a third day. Israel has announced a complete siege of Gaza, meaning it will cut off food, water and electricity. Meanwhile, Egyptian. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan called on Hamas and Israel to immediately end violence and protect civilians. Kenneth M. Pollack is an adjunct professor in the Security Studies Program of Georgetown University and a Resident Scholar at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI), where he works on Middle Eastern political-military affairs.
