ECOWAS court awards more than $17,000 to woman who was wrongfully jailed

In Nigeria, an ECOWAS court has awarded more than $17,000 dollars to Glory Okolie as reparations for human rights abuses by the Nigerian police. Okolie was released on March 23, 2022, after spending 248 days in detention. Her attorney, Samuel Ihensekhien, elaborated on the court ruling in a conversation with VOA's Peter Clottey.
