A group of Democratic Republic of Congo citizens in the Diaspora has formed what they are calling a People’s Coalition government-in-exile. They are calling on President Felix Tshisekedi to step down because they say he has failed to serve the people. They cite what they call deteriorating social and economic conditions and the presence of foreign forces on Congolese soil. The DRC will vote in presidential and parliamentary elections on December 20th. Emery Damien Kalwira, president of the group, tells VOA’s James Butty, his group is responding to the cries of the Congolese people for relief.
