A spokesperson for refugees and displaced people in Darfur, Adam Rijal, describes the current humanitarian and health conditions as dire as a result from intense fighting between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. Rijal says there is urgent needs of the displaced population, including essential items such as food, medicine, and clothing — calling on a humanitarian cease-fire in the seven-month-long conflict.
