The Committee to Protect Journalists is urging Ethiopian authorities to free two journalists who remain behind bars following the government's declaration of a six-month state of emergency after deadly fighting broke out in northern Amhara state. CPJ sub-Saharan Africa representative Muthoki Mumo told VOA’s Carol Van Dam other journalists were arrested ahead Thursday ahead of planned protests in Tigray.
