Foreign ministers of Arab League countries agreed at an emergency meeting in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, Sunday to form a tripartite liaison committee to resolve the ongoing conflict in Sudan.
The liaison committee would include representatives from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the 22-member Arab League, according to a statement issued in Cairo.
At the meeting, the foreign ministers noted that the heightened tension in Sudan has already imposed difficulty on its neighboring countries, and called on the warring parties to cease fire and return to political dialogue.
