Angola’s President Lourenco Seeks to Douse Impeachment Threat

Angolan President Joao Lourenco is expected to deliver his state of the nation speech Monday during the opening of the national assembly. This, after the country’s main opposition UNITA party walked out of a special parliamentary session on Saturday called to discuss a possible impeachment of President Lourenco. Independent Angolan journalist Mario Paiva, tells VOA’s James Butty, UNITA and the ruling MPLA disagreed over whether the voting should have been done by secret – or public – ballot.
