Amnesty International has welcomed a UN Human Rights Council vote to probe human rights abuses committed in the battle for Sudan between the army led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. The group’s International researcher for Somalia and Sudan, Abdullahi Hassan, tells Daybreak Africa host James Butty, it prefers the council set up an investigative mechanism to complement existing processes. This, as peace talks continue in Saudi Arabia amid continuing clashes.
