Aid agencies call for action

A joint statement by top leaders of the Norwegian Refugee Council, Danish Refugee Council and Mercy Corps say more than 25 million people are suffering acute food insecurity in Sudan. The three aid agencies say many families have been reduced to one meal a day for months and have been forced to eat leaves or insects. Katie Striffolino, Mercy Corp’s policy and advocacy director, told VOA’s John Tanza, the situation in Sudan is dire.
