African Regional Body Vows to Keep Sanctions on Gabon

The Economic Community of Central African States, ECCAS, and the Central African Economic and Monetary Community CEMAC say sanctions to press for a return to constitutional rule in Gabon will be maintained despite progress made by the military junta. The top officials of CEMAC and ECCAS visited Gabon Wednesday amid opposition protests. This, after junta leaders appointed aides as lawmakers to prepare for the return to constitutional order.
