African Americans remain underappreciated voting bloc in US elections

With the 2024 US general election set for November, both major parties, Democrats and Republicans, are trying to court the remaining undecided voters. But some observers say one significant demographic, African Americans, are often overlooked as a major contributor to political success. VOA’s Anthony LaBruto spoke to Chris Towler, Ph.D., a partner and principal investigator for Black Insights, a nonpartisan research and political polling company specializing in African American and African immigrant participation in US election, for an insight into how the demographic will influence this year’s elections.
