The absence of U.S. President Joe Biden and China’s Xi Jinping, whose country is the world’s biggest emitter of greenhouse gas emissions, from the COP28 global climate summit in the United Arab Emirates has left some climate activists frustrated. The annual two-week climate summit begins Thursday. But as VOA’s Carol Van Dam reports, activists say they remain undeterred in tackling global climate challenges.
