The Democratic Republic of Congo army says it stopped an attempted coup - the leader of the attempted coup was killed and dozens of people including three American citizens were arrested. South Africans who reside in the United States cast their ballots over the weekend at their Embassy in Washington and consulates in New York and Los Angeles.
