South Sudan in Focus: A delegation from the United States met with President Salva Kiir over the weekend in Juba to try to advance US-South Sudan relations; The South Sudan Workers Union is condemning what it calls the harassment of its leaders; The newly elected President of the independent Sudanese Journalists Syndicate says only under a democratic and civilian government can the media environment in Sudan be free, and vows to work with other groups to restore democratic transition in his country.
