South Sudan in Focus: Some South Sudanese lawmakers say the escalating fighting in Mayom County of Unity State is posing a threat to the implementation of the 2018 peace agreement; A senior member of the SPLM-IO was allegedly kidnapped in Juba together with his brother on Wednesday night and detained for several hours before being freed the following day; Some Sudanese politicians say there is a need to expedite dialogue among different parties on forming a transitional government to complete the remaining tasks which were interrupted by the October 2021 military coup.
