South Sudanese lawmakers say they face several challenges that make it difficult for them to carry out their duties including a lack of space for them to conduct their sessions and the failure of many ministers to respect lawmakers’ summonses; Some school administrators in South Sudan say they have seen a significant increase in the enrollment of girls in their schools because of a program that gives money to girls in schools across the country; A group of Sudanese journalists are calling on authorities in Sudan to respect press freedom and grant them access to information. The journalists say for nearly a month now, they have documented excessive force used against journalists and media houses including detention and harassment
