The National staff of Dar Petroleum Operating Company (DPOC) has gone on strike protesting disparities in salaries and allowances between South Sudanese workers and expatriates; More than 65,000 pupils and students are out of school in South Sudan’s Unity State due to floods caused by heavy rains; As South Sudan joins the rest of the world in marking International Day for the Girl Child Monday, some young girls in the country are calling on the government and other organizations to provide them with scholarships or to reduce their school fees
