VOA Our Voices 427: Roe vs Wade Overturned: Implications on Reproductive Rights
On June 24th, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade, a landmark case that upheld the constitutional rights to abortion for almost 50 years. For decades, the ideology of women’s reproductive rights has been integrated in the United States and its foreign policy. What does this sudden and drastic shift in U.S. policy mean for many African countries? On the next edition of Our Voices, we will look at reproductive rights in regard to abortion and how the Roe v. Wade decision may now influence African countries’ legal approach to abortion.
