Three Nigerian Entertainers to Headline NBA All-Star Game

The National Basketball Association (NBA) revealed that three notable Nigerian musicians will be performing at the halftime show of the 72nd NBA All-Star Game in Salt Lake City, Utah on Feb. 19.

The NBA announced Wednesday that it's "Afrobeats-themed halftime show" will feature Grammy winners Burna Boy and Tems in addition to rapper and singer Rema. All-Star Weekend, running from Feb. 17-19 at Vivint Arena, is a highly-anticipated annual event that showcases the league's finest players.

Burna Boy

Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, is known for his promotion of African music worldwide. He received international recognition after winning a Grammy for his album "Twice as Tall" in 2021.

Tems

Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, has worked with big names in the music industry, including fellow Nigerian superstar Wizkid. Tems won a Grammy for her collaboration with American rappers Future and Drake on "Wait for U" this year.

Rema

Rema, born Divine Ikubor, is a singer and rapper who amassed a global fan base after the release of his hit song "Dumebi" in 2019. Several of his songs have inspired dance trends on TikTok.
