Somalia frets over exit of regional troops, spat with Ethiopia
The security situation in Somalia is growing tense. This week, Somalia’s UN envoy accused Ethiopian troops of illegally crossing the countries' shared border and confronting local security forces. Ethiopia is a member of The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) which is expected to conclude operations in the country on December 31 after 17 years in the country. Also, Islamic State in Somalia poses a growing threat, according to US officials.
