The U.S. Republican Party Tuesday evening rebutted the State of the Union address issued by President Joe Biden, and described it as a failure.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the former press secretary under President Donald Trump’s administration expressed disbelief in Biden’s address.
“Being a mom to three young children has taught me not to believe every story I hear, so forgive me for not believe much of anything I heard tonight from President Biden,” said Sanders.
“From out-of-control inflation and violent crime to the dangerous border crisis and threats from China, Biden and the Democrats have failed you (referring to Americans),” she added.
The 40-year-old former press secretary also criticized President Joe Biden for allegedly attempting to strip Americans of their freedom of speech.
“Tonight, let’s reaffirm our commitment to a timeless American idea that government exists not to rule the people, but to serve the people,” she said.
Despite the sentiments passed by his opposers, President Biden said his administration has accomplished a lot.
“We are the only country that has emerged from every crisis stronger than when we entered it and that is what we are doing again,” said Biden.
“Two years ago, our economy was reeling and as I stand here tonight, we have created a record 12 million new jobs, more jobs created in two years than any president has ever created in four years,” he added.
The 80-year-old leader also said the U.S. is experiencing a record unemployment rate with “near record low unemployment for Black and Hispanic workers,” while highlighting the creation of 800,000 manufacturing jobs.
