Libya Presidential Spokesperson: Libyan Journalists Work Under Great Pressure

The 21st edition of the Reporters Without Borders' World Press Freedom Index, which evaluates the environment for journalism in 180 countries, noted that Libyan journalists face serious violations, including harassment, violence and intimidation. It also added that journalists "are commonly forced into the service of one of the parties involved in the conflict, to the detriment of editorial independence." VOA's Hassuna Baishu spoke to Najwa Wheba, spokesperson for Libya's Presidential Council, who formerly served as a journalist for local and international media, on the index's assessment.
