Guinea’s civil society groups end strike
In Guinea, a group of civil society organizations says its three-day demonstration in Conakry has been a success and will end today. The demonstration was called to urge the military government to return the country to democratic rule at the end of the year, and to free the two activists detained in mid-July. Security forces and angry youths for the last two days have fought for control of the streets on the outskirts of the capital Conakry. Reporter Karim Kamara has more from Conakry.
