Failure in Leadership Hinders Africa’s Development, Progress: Author

In his book, “Rescue Thyself: Change In Sub-Saharan Africa Must Come from Within,” Dr. Sylvanus Ayeni argues one reason hindering Africa’s development and progress is a failure in leadership.   The Nigerian-born retired neurosurgeon says addressing this hinderance requires a collective effort from citizens in holding leaders accountable and demanding development policies that benefit all.   VOA’s Jackson Mvunganyi spoke to Dr. Ayeni on the issues addressed in his book.
