Burkinabé Fashion Designer Weaves New Life Into Traditional Fabric
Locally harvested cotton in Burkina Faso is providing a new journey for Burkinabé fashion designer, Francios Yameogo. He is using his knowledge about local cotton to mix new design techniques with traditional Burkinabé fabric known as "faso dan fani." According to Yameogo, his designs are a hit because he makes known the non-carcinogenic ingredients used to dye the cotton and he also provides jobs for locals to work in the cotton weaving facility.
