Members of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Initiative, or YALI, on Saturday joined local members of the African diaspora for a community cleanup in Washington D.C.’s Anacostia neighborhood. As one of the culminating events for the Nelson Mandela Day, the youth leaders also reflected on their time in Washington and how they will translate what they learn in America in their home countries.
